Getting Items You Need: Alternatives to Request Delivery

As of today, the “Request Delivery” function in IUCAT is no longer be available to the IPFW community. For more information about this change, see our previous post and this announcement from Indiana University Libraries.

Don’t be alarmed!  Even without the Request Delivery function, IPFW faculty, staff, and students can still request materials from Indiana University – or from any other library.  Look at our simple instructions below, or watch our quick video tutorial.

Search for materials in Worldcat:

Worldcat is a catalog of library collections from across the USA and beyond. If you use the link on the Helmke Library homepage, you’ll see which books are in our collection and which ones are not.

If you want a book that we don’t have, just use the “Request Item Through Document Delivery” button and log in.

Our system will fill out the request form for you, so all you need to do is click “Submit”!

Don’t see the Interlibrary Loan button? Look for “Find a library” and choose the “INDIANA UNIV, PURDUE UNIV, FT network”.  The result list will also show whether items are available in nearby libraries.

Order books through Document Delivery Services:

Order any item of interest by using the Document Delivery icon on our homepage.

After logging in, simply select what type of material you want on the “New Request” menu (left side), then fill out the form  and click “Submit”!
